TSU and TPU entered top 10 of Russian universities according to RAEX

TOMSK, Sep 3 – RIA Tomsk. The RAEX agency compiled a rating of the best higher educational institutions of Russia in six areas; Tomsk State University (TSU) took the eighth line in the humanities, Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) – the fifth in engineering and the second in engineering and technical, the Izvestia newspaper reported on Tuesday referring to the RAEX agency.

It is specified that the agency makes a rating of universities in six areas: humanities, economics, technical, natural sciences directions, as well as engineering, technical and medical specialties. The RAEX rating is based on the study of opinions of students and graduates, representatives of the academic and scientific communities, as well as employers.

"The research showed that the best technical universities of the country are located in four cities - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Tomsk. 25 out of 50 educational institutions of the rating are the share of them. Their students note the high quality of fundamental education and a good level of training in applied areas", – reports "Izvestia".

In the published data of the rating, TPU takes the fifth place in the line "Technical, natural sciences and exact sciences", behind Moscow State University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and St. Petersburg State University and overtaking Novosibirsk State University, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University. In the fifth place in the rating TPU came out in 2016, notes the edition.

TPU also took the second place after Bauman MSTU in engineering and technical direction and overtaken Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University, which took the third position.

The rating on humanitarian and social areas is opened by Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, MGIMO University, Higher School of Economics, RSUH, Moscow State Linguistic University and Novosibirsk State University. On the eighth place of the rating is TSU, overtaking Peoples' Friendship University of Russia and RANEPA, follows from the rating data.
