Tomsk. The
Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Tomsk Region Pavel Volk
and the Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan
Sergey Ivanov signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday, the RIA Tomsk
correspondent reports from the scene.
The signing of a framework
agreement on cooperation in the sphere of tourism between representatives of
the two regions took place on Wednesday in the Tomsk regional department for
culture and tourism. As Volk told reporters, cooperation involves working to
promote tourism opportunities and increase tourist traffic. The document is
still being finalized.
"Tatars – are the
second titular nationality of the Tomsk region. We officially have about 18
thousand Tatars living here... Tatarstan is very interesting, and not only for
ethnic Tatars. The Tomsk region is very different from Tatarstan in nature,
historical and cultural heritage and even the size of mosquitoes. Therefore it
will be mutually interesting cooperation in terms of tourism", – he said.

According to Volk, the
development of tourism between the regions is also facilitated by the presence
of direct flight connections: the Tomsk-Kazan plane flies twice a week, on
Wednesdays and Saturdays. With increased demand from tourists, the airline will
be offered to introduce additional flights. In turn, the representative of
Tatarstan noted that Tomsk tourists would be offered to visit branded routes
and events.
"We have a branded
route "Tatarstan: 1000 and 1 pleasure": for four days, the tourist
gets all the most interesting things that is in the republic - food, historical
places, master classes... We have many tours to events – Sabantuy, Spasskaya
Fair and the largest in Russia festival of medieval combat", – Ivanov
specified.
