TOMSK, May 30 – RIA Tomsk. The volume of investments in the business of companies entering
the innovation cluster of the Tomsk region SMART Technologies, in 2018 exceeded
2 billion rubles, and their total revenues amounted to 1.8 billion, the
governor Sergei Zhvachkin reported during the annual report to the Legislative
Duma of the Tomsk region on Thursday.
Earlier it was reported that the SMART Technologies
cluster was created in Tomsk in 2018. The cluster identified 11 promising
markets. Among them are – technical vision, telemedicine, industrial robotics,
probiotics, pharmaceutical ingredients. According to the regional
administration, today the cluster includes about 200 companies.
"In our SMART Technologies innovation cluster 267
new jobs were created over the year. The amount of investment exceeded 2

Despite a significant reduction in the size of
benefits for innovators – residents of the special economic zone (SEZ
"Tomsk"), it continues to grow rapidly, the governor stressed. Earlier
it was reported that currently there are 73 residents registered in the SEZ, it
is planned that by 2020 their number will increase to 106.
"The status of residents of the special economic
zone received seven new companies, 300 new jobs were created, and the volume of
investments of residents amounted to 1.8 billion rubles. Ecodor and Foton
companies began construction of production buildings, and MOJE
Keramik-Implantate launched a new technological line", – Zhvachkin said.
In
his opinion, in the near future of the Tomsk region, all lobbying opportunities
should be mobilized to resolve at the federal level the issues of returning
benefits and preferences to residents, as well as put an end to the transfer of
all "Tomsk" SEZ facilities to the regional level.
