Tomsk State University (TSU) for the first time held the Olympiad for entering the master degree programs "TSU League"; almost a thousand people from four countries became its participants, the press service of the university reported on Thursday.
It is specified that the "TSU League" allows the winners to enter the university master programs without passing the entrance examinations or with a significant advantage – automatically get 10 points when taking into account individual achievements.
"The "TSU League" Olympiad – is an experiment that will definitely be continued. Previously, only school students had an opportunity to get benefits when they entered the university. We saw that for potential graduate students this alternative way of entering the university is also in demand in the context of ever-growing competition for state-finded places", – the head of the New Recruitment Department of TSU Evgeny Pavlov is quoted in the message.

According to the press service, almost a thousand people from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Germany applied for participation in the Olympiad. The Olympiad was held online in 33 directions. Tasks for the registered were developed by the university teachers, united in specially created subject commissions. By the preparation of tasks they took into account the content of TSU master programs.
According to Pavlov, more than a third of graduate courses were involved in the Olympiad: “I think next year it will be possible to enter all the master’s programs through the "TSU League”.
