TOMSK, Feb 17 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) philologists to take exams for knowledge of the Russian language at the North China University of Science and Technology in a created office of Testing Center of foreign citizens; according to results will be issued a certificate of Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL), the TSU press service said on Monday.
According to the press service, a certificate of passing TORFL or TRFL (test in Russian as a foreign language) may be needed by a foreigner when entering one of the Russian universities. The test itself is recognized by many as an objective indicator of Russian language proficiency.
"Tomsk State University has opened a center for testing foreigners in Russian at the North China University of Science and Technology. The Chinese office has become the eighth "branch" of the Testing Center of foreign citizens, which operates at the Faculty of Philology of TSU. In the Chinese university it will be possible to pass TORFL examinations both on the spot and remotely

It is noted that for full-time testing, Tomsk teachers will travel to China. But it will be possible to pass the exam remotely: the examiner will take part of the tasks in the form of a test and receive the results automatically, and to test speaking skills, a teacher who talks to the person being tested will be connected via videocommunication.
It is clarified that the TSU Testing Center of foreign citizens has been the leading testing center since 2017 and has the right to create local offices in other cities and countries. In particular, they are in Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Kurgan, Novokuznetsk, Vladivostok and the Spanish Granada.
"In 2019, 1843 foreign citizens passed exams at the TSU Testing Center, 1480 of them passed the comprehensive exam for migrants, 363 - TRFL . <...> TSU comes to the leading position in the field of language training in Russian as a foreign language", - says the press service.
