© РИА Томск. Павел Стефанский TOMSK, Sep 7 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) and
Manotom JSC are developing an industrial Internet of Things (IoT) system for
Tomskvodokanal; the hardware and software complex is planned to be tested at
the wells of the enterprise already in 2021, the press service of the
university told RIA Tomsk on Monday.
It is explained that the wells of the water utility are distributed over an
area of several tens of square kilometers, so collecting data from the sensors
installed there to monitor the state of the system is a labor-intensive
process. By order of Tomskvodokanal TUSUR and Manotom are creating a system for
automatic collection of readings and their transmission.
Manotom and TUSUR were given the task of developing a specialized software
and hardware complex for monitoring and controlling technological processes of
production of the "city water utility" type. Special design bureau of
TUSUR "Smena" within the framework of the project is responsible for
organizing reliable wireless transmission of the received data", – says
the message.
It is added that experts are creating a system of the industrial Internet
of Things, which should work in conditions of changeable relief and temperature
changes depending on the seasons. It is planned that it will be organized
according to the principle of a mesh network, in which "each participant
is both a data source and a repeater for other participants".
"At the moment, within the framework of the permitted frequencies for
use outside the city, it has been possible to achieve data transmission over
rough terrain at a distance of more than one and a half kilometers with a
transmitter power of 100 mW. But these are only test samples. By the time the
work is completed, we plan to achieve data transmission at a distance of at
least five kilometers", – the developer of TUSUR Alexander Bombizov is
quoted in the message.
Water utility – is a strategic facility; for its safety it is important
that all sensors, data collection and transmission devices and other systems
are of our own production. Serial production is planned to be organized at
Manotom. Now the test equipment allows to demonstrate the transfer of data from
the model. By the end of the year, it is planned to finalize it, and in the
spring of 2021, install test rigs at the wells to test the communication
system.
