TOMSK, Dec 28 – RIA Tomsk. Almost 60 residents of
Tomsk took part in the advanced training course in the specialty
"Project manager in IT" from Tomsk State University (TSU); participants
completed internships in Tomsk IT companies and received job offers, the
press service of the university reported on Monday.
Earlier
it was reported that TSU announced the launch of a free three-month
training in the specialty "Project manager in IT" from the TSU
Supercomputing Center. As part of the course, it was planned to train
specialists for urban IT enterprises.
According to the
press service, the organizers initially planned to enroll 50
participants in the course based on the selection results. Later, due to
the great interest in the project, the number of state-funded places
was increased, as a result, almost 60 people were admitted to them. The
final defense of the projects that the students prepared in teams took
place on December 17.
"At the initial stage of the course,
the students were divided into teams and had to come up with their own
project <...> The emphasis was on what skills and methods the
participants used from the position of project management... In addition
to practices, the participants completed an internship in Tomsk IT
companies, this process is still ongoing. At the same time, several
people were immediately employed during the internship", – says the
release.

It is specified that in addition to the offers of
employment already received, all course participants received
certificates of advanced training. The mentors of the course were
representatives of Tomsk IT companies, lectures and webinars were
conducted by invited speakers, specialists from Russian and
international companies.
It is noted that the course was
created in response to the need of the Tomsk IT business for new
personnel: "(TSU) was able to collect a really high-quality educational
product for these needs with active cooperation with IT companies. In
the future, we plan to launch a cycle of similar programs for training
secondary management and expand the range of educational products ", –
the press service quoted Director of the TSU Supercomputing Center
Sergey Orlov.
