than 1.5 million cubic meters of timber were exported from the Tomsk
region in 2020, which is 13% more than in 2019, and 60% more than in
2017, Acting Head of the Regional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor
Vladislav Fedulov told reporters on Thursday.
Earlier it
was reported that in the Tomsk region, the export of products of the
timber processing complex (TPC) accounts for 50.2% of the total. In
2020, timber industry products were exported for 141.5 million dollars
(in 2019 – 180 million dollars). Of these, 67.8% fell on sawn timber,
23.2% on chipboard, 5.5% on fibreboard (MDF, OSB), 3% on veneer and
plywood, 0.25% on round timber.
"More than 1.5 million
cubic meters of timber were exported from the Tomsk region in 2020, last
year there were 1.36 million cubic meters... The growth of sawn timber
in exports compared to 2019 is 13%, and almost 60% more than in 2017 of
the year", – Fedulov said at a press conference at the RIA Tomsk media
center.
He also said that in 2020 more than 6 tons of
dried peas were exported to the Baltic countries, 105 tons of fresh
mushrooms to Bulgaria, 27 tons of sea buckthorn kernels to Finland,
almost 7.5 tons of birch bark to Germany and Japan, 2 tons of pine nut
shells to Lithuania. The region also exported about 6.5 tons of pine
nuts and almost 17.5 tons of rapeseed oil.
For the first
time, flax and rapeseed were exported from the Tomsk region to the
Kingdom of the Netherlands, and soybeans – to Poland.
