Monolit-Stroy will launch an OSB plant near Tomsk by the end of 2021

TOMSK, Feb 20 – RIA Tomsk. Monolit-Stroy company (Latat trade mark) launch a new plant for the production of OSB near Tomsk at the end of 2021; the total investment in the project will amount to 5 billion rubles, the volume of production will be 250 thousand cubic meters of OSB per year, Governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin said during his visit to Monolit-Stroy.

Earlier it was reported that in 2017 the Moscow company Monolit-Stroy became the owner of the assets of the bankrupt Timber Processing Company Partner-Tomsk. The company bought out the existing lines for the production and lamination of MDF boards, the complex of buildings and warehouses of TPC Partner-Tomsk, as well as its assets in the field of timber harvesting. Within a year, the new owner has practically doubled the volume of MDF production, mastered the production of laminate and finished products.

"The owners promise to complete the commissioning (of the equipment of the new OSB plant, which is currently under construction) and to release the first OSB board at the end of 2021. The plant will be fully brought to full capacity in May 2022", - Zhvachkin said.

Export of sawn wood from the Tomsk region increased by 60% for 3 years

Daniil Ryabchenko, General Director of Monolit-Stroy, told RIA Tomsk that in July the company expects to receive equipment for the production of OSB boards and complete its installation by the end of the year. At the same time, the production volume of MDF boards, traditional for the enterprise, in 2021 will be about 330 thousand cubic meters.

Earlier it was reported that as of the end of 2020, 600 forestry enterprises operate in the Tomsk region, the number of their employees is 5.2 thousand people. At the end of the year, timber industry enterprises produced goods worth 17.5 billion rubles. The share of export of wood products is 50.2%.
