TOMSK, Sep 2 – RIA Tomsk. Times
Higher Education (THE) published its annual ranking of the world's
leading universities; Tomsk State University (TSU) is still in the top
10 of Russia, but has shifted from 6th to 9th place, TSU and TUSUR also
worsened in the world list – 601-800 and 1200+ respectively; TPU
remained in the 801-1000 group, but "left" the Russian top 10.
Earlier
it was reported that in 2021 (THE ranking is current for the year
ahead) TSU was in the 501-600 group (the 6th place among Russian
universities), TPU was in the 801-1000 group (the 8th place among
Russian universities). Also in last year's THE ranking was TUSUR, which
was in the 1001+ group and ranked the 17th among Russian universities.
As
reported on the THE website, the published part of the 2022 ranking
includes 1,662 educational institutions from 99 countries. Moscow State
University traditionally tops the list of Russian universities (the
158th place).
TSU is in the 601-800 group (the group also
includes National University of Science and Technology MISiS, ITMO
University, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, St Petersburg
State University and Moscow State University of Civil Engineering).
Among Russian universities, TSU was ranked the 9th.
TPU is in the 801-1000 group, TUSUR is in the 1201+ group of the global ranking.
The
first place in THE's ranking was again taken by University of Oxford
(UK), followed by two American universities, the California Institute of
Technology and Harvard University.
The top ten list
includes only US and UK universities: Stanford University (USA),
University of Cambridge (UK), Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(USA), Princeton University (USA), University of California, Berkeley
(USA), Yale University (USA) and University of Chicago (USA).
