"For us in
the new step of development, it is important to keep four key frameworks in
which we have structured our program. The first one is the logic of the
"breakthrough university", where the key gap is related to the
actualization of the frontier scientific agenda and the installation of new
tasks that come from new markets. This is a big challenge for us, and we open
new scientific directions for it," the rector told reporters after the
defense.
He added that
the second "framework" is metadisciplinarity of science and
education, the third framework is sustainable development of quality of life,
and the fourth is ecosystems, which "allows through combining resources to
solve ambitious problems and respond to big challenges".
It was also
reported that besides TSU, four more Tomsk universities applied for
participation in the program: Polytechnic University (TPU), State University of
Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR), Siberian State Medical University
(SSMU) and State University of Architecture and Building (TSUAB). In total, the
applications list 17 key areas of development, in the development of which the
universities intend to use each other's potential.
