TOMSK, Nov 30 – RIA Tomsk. The laboratory of robotics manipulators for practical training of students in programming, robotics and mechanics was launched on Tuesday at the Faculty of Innovation Technologies of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (FIT TUSUR), RIA Tomsk correspondent reports.

Earlier it was reported that TUSUR, within the framework of robotics concession, has purchased robotics arms so that since 2021 undergraduate and graduate students of the university could master programming and robotics with the help of these devices in the format of distance and full-time laboratory works. The equipment was provided by Promobot, which cooperates with TUSUR and three other Russian universities.

On Tuesday, a laboratory of robotics manipulators was opened at TUSUR, created on the basis of the university's FIT together with the Promobot company. The opening ceremony was attended by the university's rector and president, representatives of Promobot and the university's other robotics partners.

"It is important for a technical university to open such a laboratory from the point of view of training practice-oriented personnel, who are more in demand today than ever before. The laboratory carries a set of knowledge in programming, robotics and mechanics, which are necessary in the modern digital world," TUSUR Rector Victor Rulevsky said.

Not only FIT students but also students from other faculties of the university will be able to study in the laboratory, which contains seven robotics arms with personal computers for controlling them as part of the educational process. The lab can also be used as a platform for various student projects, scientific research and workshops for university entrants and school students.
