TOMSK, 28 Aug – RIA Tomsk. A new faculty focused on
pre-university training of entrants from foreign countries was created in the
Tomsk State University (TSU), foreigners will be able to learn Russian and to
adapt for life in Tomsk there, is reported on Friday on the website of the HEI.
It is explained that annually the number of arriving
from foreign countries entrants grows. This year entrants arrived from 33
states: in particular, Great Britain, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Congo,
Tanzania and others.
"There is one more faculty in TSU now. It is a
faculty for pre-university training of foreign citizens who are going to enter
TSU. Its main goal is language training of foreigners. They will have an
opportunity to study other subjects, for example, history or mathematics,
depending on what faculty plan to enter", – it is told in the message.

It is added that also the staff of faculty will help
entrants to get used to new living conditions. At the same time the service of
adaptation and escort of foreign students works at the university which
employees completely supervise students from the moment of arrival in Tomsk. It
includes a meeting at the airport and solutions of questions with settling, the
organization of leisure.
According to the higher education institution, 50
first students of the faculty will start studying in TSU since October 1. They
will study for six hours per day.
It is noted in TSU that traditionally Tomsk attracted
foreign students with studying of Russian and the Russian literature, however
now foreigners show a great interest to economic and engineering branches.
