TOMSK, Aug 17 – RIA Tomsk. Siberian Chemical Plant (SCP, which is included into fuel company of Rosatom "TVEL") expects to create until the end of 2016 with the investor a joint venture for the organization of titanium dioxide pigment production, the CEO of SCP Sergey Tochilin told journalists on Wednesday.
Earlier it was reported, that SCP in 2017 plans to start production of the pigmentary titanium dioxide, which is a basis of white paint and various dyes including food. Production will be based on the effective fluoride technology developed by Tomsk Polytechnic University. SCP already found the investor ready to invest 1 billion rubles in the project. In the Russian Federation, according to SCP, titanium dioxide isn't produced.
"Today we realize the mechanism of joint venture creation. I think, <…> that by the end of the year the enterprise will work regarding the fact that it will begin to realize the project", – Tochilin told at a press conference in the regional RIA Tomsk media center.
He specified that SCP in return intends to provide the areas, infrastructure and the production technology, and the investor will "enter with money": funding the development of design and budget documentation, production of the equipment for trial and industrial production. However Tochilin didn't call who exactly acted as the investor.
The head of SCP added that the enterprise on the basis of combine will be able to cover only partially requirement of the Russian market which needs about 80 thousand tons of substance a year.
Earlier it was reported that initial trial production of pigmentary titanium dioxide will be 5 thousand tons volume, in 2019 it is planned to start industrial production – with the volume of 20 thousand tons.
