TOMSK, Jul 06 – RIA Tomsk. The famous Russian artist Nikas Safronov intends to draw several landscapes of Tomsk, including to create pictures of the historic center and Tomsk State University.
As Safronov told journalists, he came to Tomsk in 2012 for the first time when he opened the exhibition of the works in regional local history museum. Following the results of the trip he drew several winter landscapes of the city which he "sold to people" after. Еhe artist visited Tomsk on Thursday again to open the exhibition "Favorites" in the art museum.
"I liked the Ostrog – foundation of the city, Epiphany Cathedral and the house opposite with two turrets which is painted with gentle-bluish paint. (I intend to draw) such sign buildings. (Tomsk State) University, I would make it in style of symbolism, would add some living creatures, bearcubs with textbooks", – the artist reported at the press conference in the RIA Tomsk media center.
According to Safronov, the cost of such picture is from 25-30 thousand euros.
The artist added that Tomsk is "the place where the real muses still live" for him. "If it is possible to call Novosibirsk as Siberian Moscow, then Tomsk is Siberian St. Petersburg", – Safronov emphasized.
According to open sources, Nikas Safronov is an honored artist of the Russian Federation. The main part of his pictures is in private collections in Russia and abroad, and also in the museums of Western Europe and America. The western collectors bought more than 800 of his canvases. Among owners of the pictures are Sophia Loren, Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Pierre Cardin, Diana Ross, Madonna.
