TOMSK, Sep 4 – RIA Tomsk.Tomsk State University (TSU) will receive 22 million rubles from the federal budget on creation of the regional competence center in the field of online learning, the press service of the regional administration said on Monday.
It is specified that the subsidy of 22 million rubles for the development of online education TSU will receive within the framework of the "Development of Education" state program for the "Modern Digital Educational Environment in the Russian Federation" project. 142 applications were submitted for the contest, in its nomination TSU became the first of 77 declared universities.
"The goal of creating of a regional competence center in the field of online learning at TSU – is to maximally disseminate online courses on basic professional educational programs", – the message says.
It is added that the TSU provided itself with a state subsidy thanks to the spread of mass open online courses in Tomsk, with 130,000 listeners. More than 46 thousand of them – are foreign students from 178 countries of the world.
As the press service of TSU informs, the university become one of ten universities of the Russian Federation, on the basis of which regional centers of competence in the field of online learning will be created. The center will provide educational, integrating and coordinating functions for the development of online learning in universities, colleges and schools.
Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, as well as Siberian State Medical University will become partners of Tomsk State University.
