TOMSK, Sep 11 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) got first place in the ranking of universities made by experts of charity Vladimir Potanin Foundation in 2018; Tomsk State University (TSU) was in top three of the general list and the second in the increasing ranking, TASS with reference to the CEO of Foundation Oksana Oracheva reported on Tuesday.

Earlier it was reported that three Tomsk universities – TSU, TPU and the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) – entered top-5 the ranking of universities of charity Vladimir Potanin Foundation, having got the first, second and fifth places respectively in 2017.

It is reported that TSU and TPU kept high positions in the new ranking which is following the results of the past (2017/2018) academic years.

"Tomsk Polytechnic University got the first place, and it always was in leaders, took the leading positions. Omsk State University … is on the second place. Tomsk State University takes the third place", – TASS quotes Oracheva.

It is noted that experts of the Foundation also made the increasing ranking – it generalizes achievements of each university in the main ranking in three years. TPU also headed the increasing ranking of 2016-2018. TSU is on the second place, National Research University Higher School of Economics (Moscow) is on the third.

Also earlier it was reported that the ranking is made on the basis of indicators of the universities participating in competitions of the Foundation: scholarship – for undergraduates, grant – for teachers of master program, competition of socially important projects and School of the Foundation. The position of a university depends on achievements which scholars and grantees of the Foundation show within a year.

As it is reported on the website of the Foundation, TUSUR is on the 25th in the main ranking of this year, and in increasing – on the 19th place.
