TOMSK, Nov 28
– RIA Tomsk. The uniform platform for discussing projects of young
entrepreneurs and searching for investors and partners - the “startup-valley” –
appear in Tomsk next to Living Laboratory campus, the deputy governor of the
Tomsk region Andrey Antonov said on Wednesday at the meeting of the commission
for economic cooperation between Russia and the Netherlands.
Earlier it
was reported that in 2017 the Living Laboratory project was created in the
Tomsk region, which will allow to introduce modern solutions, including the
development of the Tomsk companies, into the city infrastructure. The team
planned to develop a project of creative urban space within the boundaries of
Vershinin, Usov and Lytkina streets in Tomsk. First of all, it will affect the
development of campuses.
According to
the RIA Tomsk correspondent, on Wednesday at the main building of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) within the framework of the III International
Forum of University Cities was held the meeting of the working group on
innovations of the commission on economic cooperation between Russia and the
Netherlands.
From the
Russian side, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of
Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Agency for Strategic
Initiatives, administration of the Tomsk region and the rectors of Tomsk
universities. From the Netherlands – representatives of the Ministry of
Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the
Netherlands in the Russian Federation, professors of the universities of
Utrecht and Maastricht, the heads of the Russian office of Philips company and
others.
Valley of
ideas
Presenting
the experience of the Tomsk region in supporting of innovative
entrepreneurship, the deputy governor of the Tomsk region Andrey Antonov gave
an example of the joint Russian-Dutch project Living Laboratory for developing
the infrastructure of the university city and announced the continuation of
cooperation in the new project for young entrepreneurs who want to engage in
knowledge-intensive business.
For them, a
uniform platform will appear in Tomsk, where will be created all conditions for
discussing ideas and projects, as well as searching for new partners and investors
– the "startup-valley".
"Startup-valley"
is a place where formed teams can start to implement their projects. When
searching for a place to host such a “startup-valley”, we decided to locate it
on the territory adjacent to the Living Laboratory, - in close cooperation with
the team of this project, which was also formed with the participation of
colleagues from the Netherlands”, – Antonov said.
He noted that
the idea of “startup-valley” creating arose after Amsterdam visiting by
delegation of the Tomsk region, where Tomsk residents were shown the convenient
spaces, organized for young entrepreneurs, – Startup village.
According to
the official website of the Dutch project, Startup Village - is a public space
in the Amsterdam Science Park, where high-tech and scientific startups are
located. Startup Village regularly hosts events – workshops, meetings of
startups. The project collaborates with universities, companies, successful
entrepreneurs and business experts.
