Developers will begin assembly of the self-driving car on Friday in the indoor
parking space of the Tomsk special economic zone (SEZ) which will be tested on
winter track, the press service of regional administration reported on
Wednesday.
Earlier it was reported that
the self-driving car intended for movement in winter conditions will be created
in Tomsk. Unlike the developments existing in the world designed for movement
along the route with a good marking, the Tomsk AV (Autonomous Vehicle) was conceived for use
including on the snow-covered road without visible marking.

in the indoor parking space of the Tomsk SEZ assembly of the self-driving car
for tests in winter conditions will begin", – it is said in the statement.
It is noted that on the place
of assembly of the car the head of alliance "Technical Vision" Victor
Shirshin, the vice rector of the Tomsk State University Konstantin Belyakov and
the head of the department of development of innovative and business activity
of the Tomsk region Alexander Osadchenko will tell about the development.

As one of the developers of
the AV – Konstantin Belyakov explained RIA Tomsk, the car is created by
alliance of the Tomsk innovative companies and universities within the
Technical Vision project which is included in a regional cluster of Smart
Technologies Tomsk. According to the cluster website, it is planned to spend 60
million rubles for creation of "robot" from 2016 for 2020 and to
attract investments of 300 million.
The design alliance
"Technical Vision" is a part of a cluster of SMART TechnologiesTomsk,
which is included in the list of innovative clusters – participants of the
priority project of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian
Federation "Development of innovative clusters – leaders of world-class
investment attractiveness".
The companies having
competences for creation of projects in the sphere of technical vision
including developers of sensors, software, robotic hardware complexes and
control systems are part of the alliance.
