TOMSK, Jul 4 – RIA Tomsk. Seven young scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU) won the competition for the Scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation for research on priority areas of the Russian economy; for three years, scholars will receive 22.8 thousand rubles a month, the press service of the university reported on Thursday.
It is specified that the competition was attended by Russians under the age of 35 years working in the field of energy conservation, nuclear, space, medical, information technologies.
"Seven young scientists of TSU showed a high level of research, they all work in the laboratories of the university, each already has published scientific articles in leading scientific journals and publications. Four winners – are representatives of the Faculty of Radiophysics, one scholarship each from the Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Physics and Engineering and Faculty of Innovative Technologies", – is said in the statement.

It is added that among the winners are Anna Eftifeyeva (studies alloys with shape memory, which are used in thermomechanical drives and dampers), Oleg Egorov (studies methods of combustion diagnosing of hydrocarbon fuel), Irina Kolesnikova (participates in a large university project to improve the efficiency of gallium arsenide-based sensors compensated by chromium).
Scholars also became Elena Zhuravleva (explores the properties of ferrimagnetic materials used in radio engineering, radio electronics, microwave and computer technology), Dmitry Tuzhilkin (studies the electrical activity of the brain), Vladimir Promakhov (deals with heat-resistant materials to improve the energy efficiency of gas turbine units) and Dmitry Shashev (develops neural network algorithms that can classify and recognize images).
According to the press service, within three years scholars will receive 22.8 thousand rubles a month.
