– RIA Tomsk. The ceremonial start of the first "pilot" expedition
along the new route "Golden Ring of Siberia" ("Opening
Siberia") will be given on August 16 in Tomsk from the regional museum of
local history, the executive director of the regional branch of the Russian
Geographical Society (RGS) Julia Kalyuzhnaya told journalists on Thursday.
Earlier it
was reported that the Tomsk branch of the RGS in 2018 won a grant of the
President of the Russian Federation worth 6 million rubles for the development
of part of the local history route "Golden Ring of Siberia" in the
Tomsk region. The result of the work should be a tourist route with convenient
transport logistics between the regions of Siberia.
"The
pilot tour, where we (organizers) will be pioneers, starts tomorrow (August 16,
Friday) at 09.30 from the territory of the regional museum of local history,
where the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society is located. The
ceremonial start will be given to this route. A logist, an expert, a video and
photo operator, a journalist are going with us. <…> We will broadcast all
of this (on the website)," – Kalyuzhnaya said at the press conference in
the media center RIA Tomsk.

The length
of the route is about 10 thousand kilometers. The journey will use the most
different transport: "We drive, we fly, we sail. There are also difficult
areas – extreme," – Kalyuzhnaya said. Within 15 days tourists will be able
to visit different regions of Siberia, to see Baikal and Kuznetskiy coal mine,
to cross Lake Teletskoye in Altai and observe shaman rites.
Kalyuzhnaya
said that such a route will cost about 55 thousand rubles per person in 15
days. This amount includes road, hotel accommodation, excursions, cultural
program and breakfasts. Tourists will be able to try gastronomic delights of
the indigenous ethnic group on the trip. Now the project is under testing, it
will become available for tourists only in 2021 in summer and winter seasons.
The deputy
head of the department of economics of the administration of the Tomsk region
Alexander Soloviev also added that the start and finish of the route are in
Tomsk. According to Kalyuzhnaya, tourists will see the Tomsk State University,
learn about other universities of the city, hear the history of the Tomsk
province, see wooden architecture and visit the Semiluzhenskiy acute within the
framework of the new route in Tomsk. The Tomsk part of the way takes a day and
a half in total in the program.
