TOMSK, Oct 15 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) and Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) are once again ranked among the top 100 universities in Emerging Europe and Central Asia of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranking, according to the data posted on the official website of the Rankings.

Earlier it was reported that the QS EECA rating is designed to rank leading universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Published for the first time in 2014, it is a pilot version of the ranking based on a methodology that was developed to reflect the priorities and problems of universities in these regions. The top 100 of the ranking of 2014 included TSU (the 33rd place), TPU (the 45th place) and TUSUR (the group 91-100).

"Russian universities continue to be the most impressive in the ranking of this year’s best universities in Emerging Europe and Central Asia. <...> 10 different indicators were evaluated for this year’s ranking, including academic and employer reputations, as well as the impact of each university on research", – the 2020 QS EECA university rankings website said.

According to the website, TSU takes the eighth place in this ranking (in 2018 – the 13th place), TPU – the 30th (in 2018 – the 35th). The ranking also included Tomsk State Pedagogical University (TSPU), which took the 186th place, and Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, entering the group 211-220.
