TOMSK, Feb 27 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) initiated the creation of the Center for the development of devices and technologies for medical robotics, extreme and rehabilitation medicine on its base in 2020; one of the project partners will be the Burnasyan Federal Medical Biophysical Center (FMBC) (Moscow), reports the press service of the university.
According to the press service, TSU held a working meeting dedicated to improving the work of the Center for the development of science, technology and education in the field of defense and security of the state of TSU, on the basis of which it is planned to develop the Center for extreme medicine. The meeting was attended by the leaders of JSC "Scientific-Production Concern" Mechanical Engineering", Burnasyan FMBC, Institute for Problems of Chemical and Energetic Technologies of the Siberian Branch оf the Russian Academy of Sciences and JSC Miсran research and production company.
"The Center for the development of devices and technologies for medical robotics, extreme and rehabilitation medicine will appear at TSU in 2020. The intentions of the partners are fixed by a memorandum signed in TSU by representatives of four organizations (above) <...> New developments will subsequently be transmitted into practical health care", - is said in the message.
It is noted that the university will work on the implementation of the new project together with the Burnasyan FMBC, Siberian State Medical University and the Siberian Federal Scientific Clinical Center (Seversk), which could become a Siberian platform for testing new developments.

Another new structure within the Center for the development of science, technology and education in the field of defense and security of the state of TSU will be the Engineering center for microwave technology. The central industrial partner will be Miсran research and production company. The main areas of activity will be quantum superconducting electronics and optoelectronics and cyber-physical systems, the press service said.
It was previously reported that TSU radiophysicists under the guidance of professor Grigory Dunaevsky, developed the world's first device for treating frostbite with the help of microwave field. The essence of the technique is to warm limbs with the help of weak microwave radiation, which is able to warm the frostbitten part of the body to the full depth. The development was planned to be tested on volunteers in the Tomsk primary healthcare unit №2.
