TOMSK, Mar 16 – RIA Tomsk. Russian students of universities and technical schools will receive free access to online courses developed at Tomsk State University (TSU) and hosted on Coursera, Lektorium and others platforms; access is opened in connection with the transfer of training to online due to the spread of coronavirus, TSU press service said on Monday.

Earlier it was reported that in connection with the unfavorable situation on a new coronavirus infection, the Ministry of Education and Science recommended universities to organize distance learning for students using digital technologies. TSU, TPU and other universities of Tomsk announced their readiness to switch to online education.

"In the context of a difficult epidemiological situation in the country, TSU offers free access to its online courses hosted on the Coursera, National Open Education Platform, Lektorium, Stepik, Education in Russian and others platforms", - an employee of the university said.

She clarified that online courses were submitted for inclusion in the register of online courses available for educational institutions, which will be published on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science on March 18.

"The first appeals have already appeared - Pharmaceutical College of Saint Petersburg State Chemical Pharmaceutical University has sent a request for training of 300 students in the course "Geography (Fundamentals of Earth Sciences)", - the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to the university, at present TSU within the framework of network agreements provides training for students of UrFU and FEFU in the online courses "Pedagogy and Psychology of Higher Education", "Etiquette for All Occasions", "Social Media", "Statistics for Humanities", In the near future, students of Vyatka State University will enter the course "Pedagogy and Psychology of Higher Education". In addition, a number of Tomsk technical schools are already conducting training at online courses of the state university.
