"The
development of hydrogen technologies is becoming a new big story for the
Russian Federation. It is fundamentally important for us in the near future to
determine the national rates for the export of raw materials, the potential of
the domestic market for hydrogen, a set of technological solutions", – Special
Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on Digital and
Technological Development Dmitry Peskov said at the opening of the conference.
Hydrogen energy
is one of the leading directions in the development of environmentally friendly
methods of generating energy. The UN Framework Convention, signed by Russia in
2015, envisages a multiple reduction of carbon emissions from electricity
generation in the next decade. Hydrogen, on the other hand, is a low-carbon
fuel and is also the most abundant element in nature, the reserves of which are
inexhaustible.
