RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU)
opened the Center for Collective Data Processing and DevOps Infrastructure
Support; the platform allows future mathematicians and programmers to use
high-performance computing servers for coursework and diploma projects, which
will make them practically suitable for life, the press service of the
university said.
It is specified
that the Center for Collective Data Processing and DevOps Infrastructure
Support is opened on the basis of the Institute of Applied Mathematics and
Computer Science (IAMCS) and the TSU Center for Applied Big Data Analysis. This
is a platform for solving problems for creating new algorithms for big data
processing and practical approaches to the use of these results. Students,
graduate students and employees of the TSU IAMCS will work on the basis of the
center.
"The data
center will you to use high-performance computing servers for learning and
conducting scientific research of students, graduate students and employees of
the TSU IAMCS. First of all, it may be interesting to students of undergraduate
programs "Artificial Intelligence and Development of Software
Products" and to students of the master's program "Intelligent Big
Data Analysis", Director of the TSU Institute of Applied Mathematics and
Computer Science Alexander Zamyatin is quoted.
It is noted that
the Center opens to students and graduate students of TSU access to real data
arrays, which they will use to solve problems in the preparation of diploma and
coursework projects. Thus, projects will become not just training, but also
actually solving problems of society.
For students of
the "DevOps-Engineering in Administration of IT-development
Infrastructure", the Center makes it possible to get sought-after
practical skills. They will be able to develop the competence of administration
of operating environments, computer networks and distributed application
software systems, advanced competences in the digitalization, creation and
configuration of virtualization and containerization systems.
"It is very
important that undergraduate and postgraduate students have the opportunity to
gain practical skills in deploying a virtual environment. These skills
significantly increase the value of a specialist and increase his
competitiveness in the labor market, many times increasing the chances of a
successful professional career," TSU IAMCS associate professor Alexey
Shkurkin is quoted as saying.
