TOMSK, Sep 3 – RIA Tomsk. Almost
850 foreign students entered Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) in
2021, which is 40 more than a year earlier; the majority of foreigners
are still CIS nationals, the university's press service reported on
Friday.
Earlier it was reported that in 2021/2022 the
number of state-funded places at TPU has been increased by 865 to 3,671,
including 666 places for full-time students. During the admission
campaign, applications from 6,808 applicants were accepted. The average
score for the USE dropped slightly to 74.01, which university officials
attribute to a drop in the number of applicants taking physics tests.

have seen a slight increase in the number of international students,
and we have been working on it. The university has made international
education one of its basic priorities for quite some time. We work by
target method, including with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China,
Vietnam, and Egypt", – TPU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Mikhail
Solovyov is quoted.
It is noted that as of September 2,
