TOMSK, Dec 19 – RIA Tomsk. Experts from St. Petersburg have officially awarded Tomsk hotel Kuhterin with a five-star category – no hotel in the region has ever achieved such a rating before; accommodation prices will remain the same for the time being, hotel manager Natalia Zakharova told RIA Tomsk.
As it was previously reported, a new regulation "On the Classification of Hotels" of the Russian Government came into force on the 1st of January, 2021, according to which all domestic hotels can be eligible for a category corresponding to international classification (1-5 stars). Hotel Kuhterin was the first in Tomsk to apply for the highest category – five stars.
"We were the first in Tomsk to receive the five-star category. We found out about it on December 16, but we decided to announce it at the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the restaurant Kuhterin. <...> The prices don't change, the prices stay the same", – Zakharova said.
She added that the hotel was evaluated by Endikon-Expert, an accredited organization from St. Petersburg. Points are awarded to hotels for the room stock, quality service and additional leisure facilities for guests. For example, a lack of a second lift can be compensated by a spa-area or a gym. "Just the other day a swimming pool was opened at the Kuhterin. The hotel now has a full range of services," – added the interlocutor.
It was also reported that the list of tourist facilities of the Federal Agency for Tourism includes 59 hotels in Tomsk. Six hotels have four stars category (Magistrat, Xander, Gogol Hotel, Bon Apart, Toyan and Scandinavia), three stars have 21 hotels.
