TOMSK, Aug 27 – RIA Tomsk. Students from Cyprus, China and Vietnam worked in construction crews of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) in the summer, 2015, were repairing dormitories and the HEI's buildings, the vice rector of the higher education institution Maxim Vedyashkin reported.
"Foreign countries actively participate in repairing of dormitories and buildings. They are from China, Vietnam, Cyprus …", – he told.
Vedyashkin specified that foreigners renovated not only dormitories from Usov Street where they live, but also other educational buildings of the higher education institution.
"They are really hard workers – they were working during the whole day. They actively participate in everything", – the vice rector told.
According to his data, construction crews repaired 504 rooms in dormitories of TPU in total.
TPU traditionally is the leader among Tomsk higher education institutions by number of foreign students. There were 23,2% of foreigners in total number of TPU students in 2014. This year the higher education institution plans to enlist 300 foreign students from 20 foreign countries. The university carries out the program of adaptation of foreign students, training them in Russian and helping to adapt to life in Russia within five years.
