Elecard Group and Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radio Electronics
(TUSUR) developed system of adaptive peer-to-peer broadcast of data which
allows to reduce cost of information transfer on the Internet, the CEO of the
company Victor Shirshin reported.
According to him, the project is
realized within the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No.
218 "About measures of state support of development of cooperation of the
Russian higher education institutions and organizations working on creation of
hi-tech productions".
"What did the providers giving
an access to television and Internet access face now? With a growth of number
of subscribers load of high-level networks sharply increases, there are no
capacities. Thanks to the development we reduce loading due to peer-to-peer
data transmission", – Shirshin told.

He explained that the development
allows "to distribute statistics". "10% of clients consume 90%
of traffic. The most part from them watches the same. You watch "Channel
One", your neighbor watches "Channel One". Every time it is a
new session of delivery of data. Our technology is in the following: if the
first subscriber watches the channel and the second wants to watch the same,
the second will consume data from the first", – the interlocutor noted.
He emphasized that the development
will allow to come to a new level of data transmission. "The Second part
of the project is adapting of data under change of capacity. Increasing of
loading - someone started downloading something from the Internet, the channel
was narrowed. Now it influences quality of a picture. What about our project:
with a growth of loading data transmission speed decreases. The sound and the
picture aren't lost, the viewer remains happy", – Shirshin specified.
According to "Elecard",
the development successfully takes root. it is in test In Tomsk, she is
exploited by a large provider of Novosibirsk in the commercial mode, which has
about 200 thousand subscribers. "Due to our technology the provider
reduced the cost of the final decision many times. And for the last year it
doubled number of subscribers", – he shared.
