TOMSK, Sept 25 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk and Italian researchers will study nanomaterials together, in particular, for medicine use, they will use the modern equipment, and also organize an exchange of students and scientists within the memorandum of cooperation signed on Thursday, the head of a chair of Tomsk State University (TSU) Sergey Kulkov told.

Signing of the memorandum of cooperation between TSU, the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science (ISPMS) of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science and The Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis (Italy) took place on Thursday in the RIA Tomsk media center.

"The exchange of students, an exchange of graduate students, employees is planned. And we have good experience in science. This memorandum opens opportunity to create lots for collaboration in federal target programs and to receive absolutely real resources. <…> There is is a specific equipment which we don't have (in Italy). And we can use it", – Kulkov told.

According to him, the Italian scientists will be able to use the equipment of TSU which isn't present at their institute. Joint researches will be conducted in the field of nanomaterials – first of all, in medicine and environment. "We already have such works. And we can expand them", - Kulkov emphasized.

In turn the vice rector of TSU for international relations Artem Rykun specified that the Tomsk University already cooperates with a number of the Italian higher education institutions. "But in this case we deal with research, academic institute. And it is a new twist, in our case it is really important", – was emphasized by him.

The representative of the Italian institute Saverio Fiore noted that his colleagues are interested first of all in studying of nanomaterials in the nature. "Many materials are not only metals, but also geomaterials. And now time came to construct the bridge between materials science and geology. I think that now it is a high time for such cooperations with such active country as Russia", – he explained.
