TOMSK, Jan 12 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU) suggest to use annelids for receiving analog of human hemoglobin; the developed medicine will differ in absence of viruses, dangerous to people, the press service of the higher education institution reported on Tuesday.

It is noted that, there is deficiency of donor blood in the world, thus its quality is not high enough: causative agents of different diseases are transferred at transfusion of concentrated red cells, there are allergic reactions; immunity of the recipient suffers. TSU scientists consider that the functional analog of hemoglobin, allocated from annelids, will help to avoid many problems of blood donation.

"All animals have liquid, which is responsible for gas transmission. People have blood: red corpuscles, associated with hemoglobin. And worms have molecules of the eritrocruorina instead of red corpuscles, which is functional analog of hemoglobin. Eritrocruorina is the main component for production of blood substitute medicine", – it is told in the message.

According to the student of TSU Vyacheslav Butikov, essential plus of the medicine, received from worms, is the small quantity or absence of infectious agents, pathogenic for people: "People have a type of viruses, invertebrate animals have another type. Viruses of worms, for example, aren't dangerous for people".

Raw materials for production of blood substitute can be increased already now; the technology of allocation of eritrocruorina is accurately described.

"The main goal now is accordance of the received substance to human blood on the physiological properties as much as possible. Eritrocruorina, allocated from biomass of worms, is just preparation for the medicine. It is necessary to add additional components that the final product corresponded to viscosity, to pH and other properties of human blood", – it is specified in the message.
