Tomsk. Tomsk was among applicants on
holding the final of the World Cup Robosoccer RoboCup-2018, the application for
participation was prepared by Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) and administration of the Tomsk region, the press
service of the university reports on Thursday.
Earlier it was reported that the project of holding
the World Cup-2018 on robofootball RoboCup in Tomsk is approved by the regional
authorities and the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Dmitry
Livanov. During the III forum of young scientists of U-NOVUS which has taken
place in Tomsk on May 12-13, 2016 the first Russian stage RoboCup Russia Open
has taken place. TUSUR became the initiator of competitions.
It is noted that about participation of the Tomsk
application in final selection to the Russian national committee RoboCup the
president of federation of RoboCup, professor Itsuka Noda from Tokyo has
reported.
"I am happy to report that your application is
approved for participation in final selection on the right of holding the world
final of RoboCup-2018. We consider that your application has the potential for
the RoboCup-2018 organization", - are quoted in the message words of the
president.

It is noted that total selection of the city which
will hold the 2018 World Cup on robofootball will take place at the end of
June, 2016 in Leipzig during the world final of RoboCup-2016. All participants
will have to present the application before board of directors of federation of
RoboCup.
"In Tomsk the organization (RoboCup Russia
Open-2016 – Ed.) is very good <…> To organize action of such scale, it is
necessary to make huge efforts. And only highly skilled universities can take
part in this project", - the press service quotes doctor Fernando Ribeyro,
the board member of RoboCup working at competitions in Tomsk.
