© РИА Томск. Павел Стефанский TOMSK, Jun 2 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnical University (TPU) and Rosatom Central Institute for Continuing Education and
Training (Rosatom-CICE&T) signed on Thursday the cooperation agreement
under which CICE&T will train polytechnics for working at nuclear power
plants abroad, the correspondent of RIA Tomsk from the scene.
"This year (will come to training to CICE&T from TPU) at least
10-15 persons. Since next year, this figure can hypothetically grow. TPU
cooperates both with Rosatom, and with Rosenergoatom, and we sign the agreement
with the purpose to accelerate the training of the specialists for the foreign
NPPs", – the rector of CICE&T Yury Seleznyov told before signing of
the agreement.

He explained that when Rosatom builds nuclear power plants abroad, part
of experts working at the new enterprises – are Russian. CICE&T plans to
take graduates of TPU and to train them in several stages within seven-eight
years to form a "frame" and the management of the foreign nuclear
projects.
According to Seleznyov, the high level of proficiency in English will
become one of the main criteria for selection of experts for working abroad. At
the first stage the institute will train graduates of TPU to work as operators
at the NPP, and after several stages of professional development, engineers
will be able to hold the leading posts at the enterprises of nuclear branch.
In turn the vice rector of TPU on educational work Yury Borovikov noted
that, despite the high level of training of specialists, the Tomsk university
seeks for further development.
"One of exclusive features of our graduates is orientation to
applied things. And here we feel a support of one of our divisions – in
structure of the university the nuclear reactor works, and our walls leave
practice-oriented experts", – emphasized Borovikov.
