Investors from China plan to process the birch in the Tomsk north

TOMSK, Jul 26 – RIA Tomsk. CJSC "RosKitInvest" (structure of the Chinese company AVIC Forestry) plans to organize in the next years production on processing of birch wood in the north of the Tomsk region, the Deputy CEO of the company Boris Kaznacheev reported RIA Tomsk.

Earlier it was also reported that in the region the timber industry cluster with participation of the Chinese partners is created. It will consist of two timber processing complexes – one of them is already created in Asino region, the memorandum on construction of the second one – Beloyarsk – is signed at the beginning of May, 2015. In June, 2016 the Chinese AVIC Foresty ("subsidiary" of AVIC corporation) started sawmilling plant in Asino region.

"What we try to develop now – is the use specifically birches which weren't in demand many years. Now we carry out the program for promotion to regions which is rich with a birch. We handle an issue in the north of the Tomsk region", – Kaznacheev told.

He specified that now "RosKitInvest" considers option of creation of production in Kargasoksky or Parabelsky districts: in these territories the company plans preparation of a birch, and to organize the processing enterprise far from the place of preparation – is unprofitable.

"Complex use of wood is planned. The main idea – is the sawmilling and further processing to a birch board. In the following, 2017 the organization of a production site will begin. <…> There are no accurate terms yet. The exit to planned power will rather long – it's needed to increase preparation", – the interlocutor of agency noted.

He added that similar projects on processing of non-business wood are also planned in Novosibirsk (realization of this stage is planned in 2016) and Tyumen (it is planned after start of the Tomsk platform) areas.
