21 – RIA Tomsk. The consul general of Vietnam in Yekaterinburg Vu Huy Mung at
the meeting with the governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachny on Friday
hoped for a cooperation with the region in spheres of mechanical engineering,
IT, education and tourism on Friday, the correspondent of RIA Tomsk reports.

Earlier it
was reported the consul general of the Republic of Vietnam in Yekaterinburg Vu
Huy Mung arrived to Tomsk with a working visit. He visited the Tomsk Chamber of
Commerce and Industry, the Tomsk Special economic zone, and met Vietnamese
students of
Tomsk State University (TSU) and the mayor of Tomsk Ivan Klein.
According
to the consul, he summed up the result of the first visit to Tomsk at the
closed meeting with the governor. He highly appreciated the level of social and
economic development of the region and hoped for development of the further
cooperation, having emphasized that the existing contacts of the parties are
insufficiently large-scale.
"We
have agreed that we will expand interaction in the sphere of the industry,
agriculture, in the field of education and tourism. <…> At you great
opportunities in the field of mechanical engineering and IT as Tomsk has the large
centers of research and training, it is fine opportunities for
cooperation", – Vu Huy Mung told
journalists after the meeting with the governor, having added that Vietnam will
be glad to meet the Tomsk delegation next year.
In turn the
press service of the region administration with reference to the governor
reports that the Tomsk region is interested in mutually beneficial cooperation
also as well as Vietnam. "We want to expand our communications that to use
cooperation potential for hundred percent", – press service quotes
Zhvachkin.
According
to the region administration, the goods turnover between the Tomsk region and
the Republic of Vietnam constituted 3,4 million US dollars (for all 2015 – 3,7
million) in eight months of 2016. The region imports seafood and children's
toys and exports petrochemical and machine-building products, educational
services.
