Tomsk, Evgenia Plankina. Tomsk and Biysk scientists develop the anesthetizing
tablets based on hexaazaisowurtzitane – substance, which is a component of
rocket fuel and explosive, the press service of the innovative organizations of
the Tomsk region reports on Thursday.
According to the press service, the Biysk Institute
for Problems of Chemical and Energetic Technologies of the Siberian Branch of
the Russian Academy of Science and the Tomsk research and production center
Chemical Technologies and Scientific Research Institute of Pharmacology are
engaged in development of the medicine. Components of explosives are produced
in Biysk, Tomsk residents are engaged in the pharmacological part of the
development.
It is noted that scientists have received several
derivatives basend on hexaazaisowurtzitane and with the revealed
pharmacological activity, and part of them shown the expressed analgetic
properties. Animal testing defined the most active agents, which can become a
basis of analgesic medicine.
"The medicine based on hexaazaisowurtzitane
possesses a new mechanism of action, which is connected with blockade of the
cellular channels, involved in carrying out pain. Chemical compound blocks them
therefore pain. <…> It influences opioid receptors, which don't form
dependence and don't cause accustoming", – the head of the working group
Olga Vaizova is quoted in the message.
It is noted, the technology of synthesis of substance
is created today and substances are defined, which will be a part of a tablet
besides the main bond. The scientists should investigate substance's toxicity
and to estimate its analgetic properties. The drug will be ready to clinical
tests in two years.
According to Vaizova, it is difficult to say, what
types of pain will be possible to ease by the new analgetic. The first tests on
animals showed that bond reduces the pain caused by thermal and chemical
irritants. According to her, it is not the first medicine, which is synthesized
from explosive components. The most known such drug is nitroglycerinum.
