Representatives of the Korean company LG Electronics Inc got interested in the
technologies invented at the Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) for water
purification without use of chemicals, 3D-printing and receipts of
nanoceramics, the press service of the higher education institution reported on
Thursday.
It is specified that the delegation of LG
Electronics Inc visited TPU with a working visit. the developments of the
Institute of Physics of High Technologies (IPHT) of TPU were presented to
representatives of the company .
"Our company is engaged in production of
water treatment technologies. We use chemicals for water purification, and
there are reagentless methods of water purification in the Tomsk Polytechnic
University. This direction seems to us very interesting and perspective",
– the head of the Department of Electronics of the LG Moscow center of
technologies Hang Song Kwon is quoted in the message.
It is noted that representatives of LG were
also interested in technologies of polytechnicians in the field of production
of functional nanostructural ceramics, of which reliable components for
electronics are already made. It is steady against depreciation, corrosion,
temperature differences, it is possible to set the necessary coefficient of
thermal expansion and parameters of heat conductivity for the material.

It is added that also interest was attracted by
developments of the higher education institution in the field of electron beam
welding, drawings functional coverings on materials, additive technologies and
others.
"Further we should determine the specific
directions of interaction. Besides, our institute actively looks for
"terrestrial" application to the developments within the directions
of strategic academic unit "Space materials science"", – the
press service quotes the Director of IPHT Alexey Yakovlev.
Earlier it was reported that scientists of the
higher education institution developed several technologies for water
purification. Even the separate division working in this area – Institute of
Water is created at the university. Stations of polytechnicians are used in
many regions of the Russian Federation and abroad.
