On Thursday Zhvachkin presented to the public and deputies of the regional
Duma the report on the results of the work of the administration of the region
over the past five years, and also told about plans for 2017.
"For the five-years period we became 21 thousand 172 persons more. And
now we are – 1 million 78 thousand 900. Our region – is the only in Siberia and
one of six in Russia where for 10 years steady demographic growth is observed
", – the head of the region told.
He emphasized that growth of the population in the region can be considered
"the main outcome of work" of the authorities.
"I think, you understand: if people associate
their life with the region, if they want to study here, get treated, start
families, give birth and raise children, then this is the region, where people
feel happy", – Zhvachkin explained.
