According to his data, in comparison with last year the number of the
state-funded places in general across the Tomsk region grown by 300. In 2014 in
all higher education institutions of the region there were in the sum 8,7
thousand state-funded places. The greatest increase – is in the
Tomsk State University, Siberian State Medical University and
Tomsk Polytechnic University.
Sonkin specified that special attention is paid to training of specialists in
socially important specialties: physicians, teachers, cultural workers and
others.
As noted the representatives of the universities participating in the press
conference, each university has its own specifics of distribution of
state-funded places. For example, in Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics state-funded places are only for specialized technical
specialties.
