© Павел Стефанский TOMSK, Jul 12 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) started admission to master program
"Technologies of Space Materials Science" together with Rocket and
Space Corporation Energia (RSC); undergraduates will work on creation of real
spacecrafts, in particular the transport ship "Federation", ISS
modules and means of their delivery, the press service of TPU reports.
Earlier it was reported that TPU and RSC Energia signed the agreement on
creation of the master program focused on training of specialists for
space-rocket branch which strongest graduates will take part in development of
the new Federation spacecraft.
"There is the first admission of students to the new master program
"Technologies of Space Materials Science" … There is 10 budgetary
places on this profile of preparation", – it is said in the statement.
It is specified that undergraduates of the program will study in TPU for
the first year, and they will study and work on specific projects in RSC
Energia for the second year. They will be able to perform works on creation of
units of the piloted transport ship of new generation "Federation",
modules of the Russian segment of the ISS and funds of their launch into orbit.
"It is planned that defense of final qualification works will take
place on the basis of RSC Energia. Each undergraduate will have about two
research supervisors: one from Tomsk Polytechnic University or Institute of
Strength Physics and Materials Science SB RAS, the second – from RSC Energia.
The best graduates will be invited to work in corporation at a position of
design engineers and process engineers after defense", – it is said in the
statement.
