TOMSK, Oct 17 – RIA Tomsk. About 100 people will take part in
total dictation on knowledge of Chinese which will pass in Tomsk State University (TSU) on November 18; such event will take place in Siberia for the
first time, the press service of the university reported on Friday.
It is specified that the Siberia's
first total dictation on knowledge of Chinese will take place on Saturday,
November 18 in the main building of State University. The organizer of the
dictation is Confucius Institute of TSU.
"About 100 participants will
have to show ability to perceive information aurally, to present it by means of
hieroglyphs quickly and correctly. The text for the dictation was provided by
the staff of the State Office on Distribution of Chinese (Hanban) at the
Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. In the same place
check of the works written to TSU", – it is said in the statement.

It is explained that those who are
interested in check of the knowledge will be divided into three groups: initial
(study the Chinese less than a year), average (from one to three years) and
senior (more than three years). Younger and senior groups will write the
dictation at 10:35 in 325, 328 and 330 lecture halls of the main building,
average – at 11:30 in 328 lecture hall.
As the press service with reference
to the director of the Confucius Institute of TSU Irina Shvedova reports,
people who learn Chinese at will, often pay not enough attention to the writing that in practice results in certain
difficulties. In particular, to inability to read hieroglyphs and to understand
it.
"The writing is the skill, most
difficult for development, when studying Chinese. There are about 80 thousand
hieroglyphs in the Chinese writing. There are much less in their active dictionary,
5-6 thousand, but also it is quite difficult to learn", – the press
service cites Shvedova's words.
