Tomsk developers will teach robot-rescuer to "see"

TOMSK, Dec 6 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Elecard Innovation Company creates an algorithm for the technical vision of the rescue robot, which will be able to inspect emergency areas of hazardous industries, as well as deliver medicines and items for first aid to the victims, the innovative portal of the Tomsk region reported on Wednesday.

With reference to the director of the Elecard Devices company Victor Shirshin it is explained that in various dangerous industries in an emergency situation, the primary task – is to ensure the evacuation of people. The rescuer can not always get to the dangerous site, and the robot can get into hard-to-reach places, inform about the whereabouts of people and bring the necessary items for help.

"The robot's software is based on technology of technical vision: it will be able to collect data on the presence of people under blockages in mines and other dangerous industries. Elecard's know-how consists in "packaging" of complex vision algorithms in a small processor", – is said in the statement.

According to Shirshin, the company will be able to integrate complex processing of information into a small device that does not need constant recharging.It is noted that at the moment the project is still at the stage of discussion, but Russian companies are already interested in the development of Tomsk residents.
