supported the application of the Tomsk region about carrying out of the World
Cup in finswimming in Tomsk in 2020, the press service of the region
administration reports on Monday.
Earlier it was reported that the World Championship in finswimming took
place in 2017 in Tomsk. About 300 junior athletes from 25 countries of the
world participated in the competitions. The national team of the Russian
Federation got 35 medals: 16 gold, nine silver and 10 bronze. CMAS planned to
hold the World Cup (WC) in finswimming among adults in Tomsk in 2020.
"By carrying out electronic vote on March 27, 2018 the board of
directors of the World Underwater Federation
approved carrying out of the
World Cup in finswimming among adults in Tomsk (Russia) from July 9 to July 15,
2020 by the Russian Underwater Federation", – the letter of the secretary
general of CMAS Hassan Bakkouche is quoted in the message.
The governor Sergey Zhvachkin expressed confidence that the Ministry of
Sport of Russia will give support of the Tomsk region in holding of the largest
world competitions again, the press service reports.
