TOMSK, Apr 25 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU) with
scientific and production enterprise MITC patented a new incubator from thin
threads of titanium nickelide for introduction of cells to injured human organ;
due to updating the incubator became 1,5 times more effective – stronger and
capacious, press service of the university reported on Wednesday.
According to the press service, a permeable incubator in medicine is a
"container" for cells, which are used for full or partial replacement
of functions of the damaged body. The container "becomes impregnated"
with suspension of cellular culture, which will replace idle cells of body, and
then is located in a human body.
"TSU and MITC scientists suggested to make an incubator in the new
way – of the bound threads of titanium nickelide with a diameter from 25 to 40
micrometers, but not of the integral massif. Thanks to such decision it
accommodates 1,5 times more of the functioning cells at the same volume.
Besides, its permeability, and fullness cellular suspension increases", –
it is said in the statement.

It is noted that the interlacing of threads in an incubator forms a set
of local microdimensional niches where fragments of cellular culture "take
cover" from the attack of immune cages of an organism. After the period of
adaptation, cells in an incubator begin to function, replacing partially or
completely function of the damaged body and creating a certain medical effect.
"Over time the overall performance of the device increases as the
permeable structure germinates with blood and lymphatic vessels, and the
incubator approaches natural bodies under natural conditions on functions as
much as possible", – words of professor of the Siberian Medical University
(SSMU) Georgy Dambayev are cited in the message.
It is added that service life of the updated incubator is increased by
1,5 times. The new technology is already used in Hospital clinics of SSMU.
