TOMSK, May 3 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU)
attracted six billion rubles on development of science and fundamental projects
for the last five years, the rector of the university Eduard Galazhinsky
reported on Thursday at the press conference in the RIA Tomsk media center.
"The university attracted more than 6 billion rubles in development of
science and fundamental projects for the last five years. The new tool – Mendeleyev foundation was tested. Also it is possible to remember breakthrough
projects on studying of climatic changes, creation of the new materials
suitable in the conditions of the Arctic, the projects directed to improvement
of quality of life and so on", – Galazhinsky told.

According to the rector of TSU, these means gave to scientists of the
university the chance to experiment with different scientific approaches thanks
to what the university "increased efficiency of scientific research and
progressed in the 5-100 project".
Earlier it was reported that two Tomsk universities – TSU and TPU
participate in the program of increase in world competitiveness
"5-100" since 2013 which is directed to that not less than five
universities of the Russian Federation were included into one hundred of the
best universities of the world by 2020. TSU and TPU were among the universities
in 2015 which received the maximum financing – on 964 million rubles. In 2016
and 2017 they entered into the second group.
In March, 2017 participating universities of the 5-100 program also
submitted "road maps" at the Council for increase in competitiveness
of leading universities of the Russian Federation in Moscow. Results of their
protection were announced in October of the same year: TPU entered the second
group, and TSU became the only not capital university which was among leaders
of the program. In 2018 TSU will receive 780 million rubles on increase in the
international competitiveness.
