Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) together with local
IT-company Rubius opened the first in Tomsk course on machine learning; its
graduates will be able to create and train any neural networks, the press
service of the university said on Thursday.
It's specified,
that on the course "Machine Learning: top specialty in a month" were
registered fifty of Tomsk citizens, from them into the first group entered only
18. From applicants were required knowledge of the higher mathematics and
ability to program on Python – all at the initial level.
"Information
technology is rapidly gaining popularity in Tomsk, and the main area that is
now in demand in the wave of high-profile projects, – is machine learning.
Until then, there was no machine training course in Tomsk that would be
conducted by industrial company and university. This is a successful symbiosis,
which, I hope, will lead to positive results", – the leading technical
specialist of Rubius Pavel Khaustov is quoted in the message.
Specialists from
Rubius IT-company will tell about how to transfer data into an understandable
for machine format and filter them, will teach to choose the appropriate tools
for machine learning. After completing the course, graduates will be able to
create and train any neural networks.
TSU and Rubius
IT-company cooperate in various areas. For example, within the framework of the
#EdCrunch Tomsk conference, dedicated to the newest educational technologies
and timed to the 140th anniversary of TSU, there was a presentation of a
large-scale digital project – "Virtual University 4.0".
Within the
framework of this project will be created an open IT-platform for the
development of educational courses. Students will be able to work with
interactive 3D-models and work out the mechanics of important processes, and
teachers – to create interactive courses and assignments. Intensive course in
machine learning became another form of cooperation.
