© РИА Томск. Залина Амирова TOMSK, Jul 16 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) began documents
acceptance from humanists and technicians to new master program "Computer
and Cognitive Linguistics"; undergraduates will learn to analyze language
and to understand how it is perceived by representatives of different social
and psychological groups, the press service of the university reports on
Monday.
It is specified that the "Computer
and Cognitive Linguistics" program united earlier existing programs –
"Cognitive Linguistics" where there were already three graduates of
masters, and "Computer Linguistics" opened in 2017. The new master
program works at base of two TSU laboratories – linguistic anthropology and
cognitive researches of language.
"Graduates (of the new program)
will be able to solve the problems connected with the automatic analysis of a
natural language for a wide range of socially important problems, such as
relationship of employers and consumers, features of perception of a text at
representatives of different social and psychological types", – it is said
in the statement.
It is noted that for training in the
program not only philologists, linguists, psychologists, historians and
lawyers, but also the experts having mathematical and natural-science education
are invited.

It is reported that the program will
work on two modules – "Computer Linguistics" and "Cognitive
Linguistics". Courses on programming languages R and Python will become
central in the first. The principles of work of a brain at generation and
perception of the speech will reveal in the second.
It is added that it is possible to file
documents for the "Computer and Cognitive Linguistics" program till
August 14. 15 state funded places are provided in the master course. All
details about receipt are on the official website of the program. And it is
possible to know about cognitive linguists on July 18 at 12:30 at a lecture in
TSU (audience 209, the main building).
