TOMSK, Jul 17 – RIA Tomsk, Yana
Kuzminykh. The
international conference "Siberian Cosmology Days - 2018", where
scientists will discuss evolution of the Universe, aspects of the theory of
gravity and modified gravity, will be held in August at Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR), the representative of the
press service of the university reported RIA Tomsk.
Earlier it was reported that in August
2016 in Tomsk was held the first international conference "Siberian
Cosmology Days". The conference was held upon an initiative of the
International Laboratory of Theoretical Cosmology of TUSUR, which has been
working since 2015 under the leadership of Sergey Odintsov. The main topics of
the conference in 2016 were questions of cosmology, astrophysics and physics of
black holes and stars.
According to the arrangements of the
organizers, every two years the conference is held in Tomsk, and once - in
another country (in 2017 it was held in Greece).
"Two years later, TUSUR will again
become a platform for the advanced edge of cosmological research for scientists
from Italy, Spain, Greece, Japan, Egypt, India, Armenia and Iran. On August
4-5, at TUSUR they will discuss modern fundamental aspects of the evolution of
the Universe, astrophysics, as well as aspects of the theory of gravity and
modified gravity", - the agency interlocutor said.
According to the university, within the
framework of the conference, the theoretical physicist Sergey Odintsov will
hold a seminar on the evolution of the Universe. To date, Odintsov is among the
ten most cited Russian scientists, he is the author of more than 500 works on
the theory of gravitation, mathematical physics and cosmology. The number of
citations of his publications exceeds 25 thousand, and the Hirsch index
(efficiency assessment for physicists - Ed.) - 71. He teaches in Spain, India
and other countries of the world.
