TOMSK, Aug 25 – RIA Tomsk. Representatives of tour operators of Russia studied prospects of development of entrance tourism in Tomsk region and recommended to include Tomsk in the "Imperial Route" project which is connected with places of stay of Romanov family and is developed by Ministry of Culture, director of Association of Tour Operators Maya Lomidze told journalists.
According to the head of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, a flow of the tourists coming to the Tomsk region, is scanty. At the same time the branch in the region has good prospects for involvement of guests, including foreigners. Besides, representatives of the leading tour operators of Russia recommended to include Tomsk in the federal project "Imperial Route".
What is the project and what are Tomsk prospects
According to the official site of the project, it is implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation together with Fund of assistance to revival of traditions of mercy and charity “Elisabeth-Sergievskoe educational society". The "Imperial Route" project includes the regions and the cities connected with stay of members of a Romanov dynasty.
"Tomsk played not the last role in life of the Romanov family and vice versa, Romanov family played not the last role in life of Tomsk therefore emergence of the "imperial route" is quite natural and proved here. Experts just tested whether it is possible to sell it (the Tomsk fragment of the "imperial route". – Ed.) in the territory of Russia and abroad", – Lomidze told.
Indigenic tourism and not only...
She noted that the Association of Tour Operators of Russia developed and offered the deputy governor Andrey Knorr the concept of development of tourism for the Tomsk region. The day before a meeting of experts and regional officials took place in the administration of the region where experience of other countries and regions having similar climatic conditions where the branch is supported at the state level was discussed.
"British Columbia in Canada, Chicago in the United States, Norway and Finland are those countries from which it is possible to borrow positive experience of development of tourism. The sums which these countries and regions spend for tourism not astronomical and are quite feasible both for the Russian Federation and for the Tomsk region".

She added that recommendations concern support of ecotourism, adventure, student's and cultural and informative tourism in the Tomsk region. So-called indigenic tourism can become one more direction for the region: "In Canada tourists are suggested to live in the cities where there are no sights, but everyday life is attractive for tourists".

During the travel of 1890-1891 Crown Prince Nicholas Alexandrovich (Romanov) – future emperor Nicholas II – traveled over almost all Eurasia and stopped in the village Semiluzhki near Tomsk in the road pavilion built for him by Kukhteriny merchants. In 2017 the house museum was opened in the exact copy of the building. In Tomsk the successor of the throne stayed in just built house of the governor – the present House of scientists on Sovetskaya Street.
